2019, Tanzania, Short Term Missions:

Tanzania Team – Day 2 at MBI

Greetings and salutations, dear readers! We want to tell you about our team’s second day at the Mwanza Bible Institute, which was this Tuesday. The two Eds (Kaleefey and Wiers) continued in teaching the class on the doctrine of God, and Cindy Marrell taught the women in an overview of the Old Testament through Ruth chapter 2. Gail Wiers and Brian Patterson had a good session with the children, which included making paper boats as part of an illustration of Peter walking on water towards Jesus in Matthew 14.

Steve and Sandy Zarnosky also had a good day with carpentry. They were able to complete all of the needed bookshelves today, and Lord-willing will move on to creating lockers and computer desks in the coming days.

Don Marrell and i spoke for chapel again today, working through the first portion of Luke 11. Our theme for the chapel sessions this week is prayer, yet as teachers we realize that we far from experts ourselves. We would very much appreciate your prayers for us, that we would communicate well the message God has laid on our hearts, and that he would speak through us during the chapel periods.

Brian and i were also able to finish setting up the computers that we had brought for the institute, connecting them on a private network and other sorts of fun computery things.

Great news in regards to the son of Kezia and Ezekiel (our interpreters) who was hospitalized— he is now able to talk and is gaining strength. Thanks so much for your prayers for him. Hopefully Ezekiel will be able to return to Mwanza tomorrow to continue interpreting for us.

We are grateful to finally be in the midst of our week at MBI, and we pray that God will continue to bless our efforts in the remainder of our time here. We’re so encouraged by what God is doing here in Mwanza, yet we’re also thinking of our friends and families in places far away— we miss you and pray that God will also bless the rest of your week.

With love from Mwanza,

Tanzania team
