As we draw close to the end of 2014, the elders would like to update you on the Grace Beyond Building Project. It has been a joy to see the excitement for this project build as together we watch God guide us in this next phase of our church’s life.
The next big step in the project for the congregation is the pledge process. Giving brochures and pledge cards will be available beginning Sunday, February 15. Prior to that date, the elders are asking the congregation to spend time prayerfully considering what the Lord is asking each person to give toward Grace Beyond, above and beyond their normal giving. On gracebeyond.org/news you can find answers to some of the frequently asked questions we’ve received regarding giving.
As we consider the magnitude of this next step, we are trusting God to provide not only for Grace Beyond, but for all of our normal year-end financial needs, including our Open Door project. As you prayerfully consider year-end giving, if the Lord directs you to give prior to the collection of pledges, the deacons have established a Grace Beyond project fund that can accept donations. Online giving is available for Grace Beyond at MyCalvaryGR.org. This option will allow you to set up weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual or one-time gifts. You may also use the pew envelopes and check the box for the Grace Beyond Project or you may simply write “Grace Beyond” on the memo line of your check.
As we look forward to 2015, in faith, the elders anticipate receiving the necessary pledges to implement the full scope of the building project that we believe God has given to Calvary. With this mindset, we are expectantly planning the following events in 2015.
- January 18 – Town Hall Meeting (Review Final Building Plans)
- February 15 – Pledge Kickoff Sunday (Pledge Cards Distributed)
- March 29 – Pledge Sunday (Pledge Cards Returned)
- April 12 – Grace Beyond Pledge Announcement
- April 26 – Town Hall Meeting
- May 31 – Final Service in the Current Building
- June 1 – Begin Preparing Building for Construction
- June 7 – First Sunday at our Temporary Location (TBD)
- June 22 – Construction Begins
We hope you will plan to take part in these important events in the life of our church. In addition, we want to share with you a video looking back at how God brought us to our home here on the East Beltline and an encouragement of how He will move through our faithful obedience to bless future generations.
