Senior Adults

Senior adults at Calvary gather throughout the week to learn and fellowship together. Connect with other seniors at Calvary through the following:

55+ Leisure Luncheon
Join our senior community the first Monday of each month, September through June, for a time of lunch, fellowship and informative programming. A delicious lunch is offered for $7 per person.  Reservations should be made one week prior by contacting Howard and Arlene Timmer at 365-0728.

Wednesday Morning Older Adults Bible Study
Older adults ages 55+ from Calvary Church and around West Michigan meet every Wednesday, September through May, from 9:30-11:00am in room 121 (through February. We will move to room 108 in March.) for a time of fellowship and Bible study. No matter where you may be in your personal walk with Christ, you can benefit from this ongoing study of God’s Word.

Confident Caregivers of West Michigan
Confident Caregivers provides support for those filling the roll of full or part-time caregiver in their home, special needs community, or assisted living facility. Each meeting allows caregivers at any stage in life to spend time with others who share their unique experience of providing care for those unable to care for themselves.

Each meeting features an interesting speaker designed to entertain and equip attendees around a variety of topics. Contact Regina Bilski at ext. 3672 for further details.

GriefShare Workshops
GriefShare is a ministry providing a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. GriefShare seminars and support groups here at Calvary are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. Two 13-week workshops are held, one in the spring and one in the fall. Workshops are designed specifically to give you the opportunity to interact with others who have experienced a recent loss. Contact Regina Bilski at ext. 3672 for further details.

Chera (Support for the Widowed)
Chera (pronounced Ke-Ra) is the Greek word for “widowed” or “bereft.” Our mission is to reach out to those who have lost a spouse and offer the comfort which comes from God. Our members contact the newly-widowed to provide support by listening and offering friendship individually as well as meeting in small groups. Twice a year, in the spring and the fall, Chera members are the guests of the Elders and Deacons to share a brunch and fellowship. We invite you to join us.
