The Muslim month of fasting, Ramadan, this year goes from May 27-June 25. When I think about Muslims all over the world working so hard to draw close to God and earn his favor, my heart is filled with gratitude for Christ’s finished work:
"No one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin. But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.” Romans 3:20-22
You can use this month to pray strategically for the Gospel to reach Muslims. Here are some ways to learn more and to focus your prayers:
- Stop by the information desk across from the Chapel and pick up a “30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World” guide. Children’s guides - with fun activities and stories to help kids learn to pray for Muslims - are also available.
- Each day, get the information from the adult guide on line here.
- Do you prefer video over written explanations? Join the Prayercast Ramadan Challenge, where each week a different region of the world and the needs of the Muslims living there will be featured. Text Ramadan to 22828 or sign up on the Prayercast website to receive an e-mail link for each day’s video.
Thanks for joining me in this prayer movement.
