We had such a wonderful day serving at Camp of the Peaks, or Camp des Cimes, as it's known in France. Some of us busied ourselves with splitting and stacking wood while others of us cleared the way to then lay a gravel path in an area of the camp grounds.
Camp of the Peaks is nestled into the high French Alps. Several of the roads we took through different mountain passes are roads used in different mountain stages during the a Tour de France. The camp is fully staffed by missionaries and funded by the generous support of various churches in the US and Austrailia and several families in the US. Camp of the Peaks hosts youth and family camps year round in its picturesque location. The camp serves as a very strategic avenue to share the Gospel to those who would be turned off to hearing the good news of Jesus Christ in any other context in the French culture. It was very encouraging to hear how the Lord has worked in people's hearts at and through this camp.
Our prayer is that some of the wood we shop will be used for a campfire this summer which will facilitate meaningful conversation that has eternal benefit! We are spending the night tonight in their rustic cabins to continue more work tomorrow along with a hike or two before heading back into Grenoble!
Thank you for reading and continue to pray that we may be effective instruments to be used by God to advance his Kingdom in this place!
