Church Ministry Update for the Week of August 3

On August 2, Calvary Church Leadership announced to the congregation the return of positive COVID-19 test results for Pastor Jim Samra. Out of an abundance of caution, we are taking a number of steps across the church to limit interaction between staff and congregants through August 16. These changes are beneficial because of Jim’s interactions with staff and many in the congregation throughout the past two weeks. During this timeframe:

  • All staff will be working remotely
  • Ministry to those birth through young adults and to senior adults will be conducted virtually
  • Meetings with non-staff will not take place on-site

At this time, we are also prayerfully considering any modifications that need to be made to our on-site gathering for worship on August 9 and 16. We will be certain to inform the congregation of any adjustments taking place, in light of recent events. Our aim is to continue offering essential ministry, like the Food Pantry, funerals, and weddings, as we are able to do so.

Should you have any questions regarding the ministry of Calvary Church during this time, do not hesitate to reach out via email (info@calvarygr.org). If you have a spiritual need, a staff member is always available. Call (616)956-9377 and leave a voicemail, to be connected with the staff member on call.
