2026, Cuba:

Cuba Day 6 – Experiencing the Country

On our Final Day in Cuba, the team got to experience more of the culture and land of Cuba. This is an important piece of this trip as often people view Cuba in a sad light, but the country and its people are so wonderful, so it’s important to really see that.

Following breakfast, everyone packed in the van to travel to the Cuban countryside, a couple hours outside of the city.
Once there we were able to see the mountains, which are much rounder than what many people usually think of. Following that, we explored a large cave/ravine, and got to witness how God has created the Earth and how time has shaped it.
Afterwards, we all hopped on horses (many of us for the first time) and traveled out to a generational Cuban farm. There we got to learn about the process of making Cuban cigars, coffee beans, and honey, all of which are grown and processed on their property.
Then the team got lunch at the first completely organic farm and restaurant, started in 2005. Enjoying a meal, everyone ate and laughed together around the table.
On the drive home, spirits were still high as everyone played ‘guess that tune’, 80s, 90s, and 00s edition, courtesy of Brendon.
Back home we ate one final Cuban meal, said goodbye to our wonderful representatives, and spent a beautiful time sharing encouragement and affirmations with one another. The team then went to bed ready for their early flight home.
As you think of us, pray for our travels home, health for everyone, both while traveling and adjusting back to the weater at home, and for the Lord to work in the hearts of the Cuban people and in how we will continue using what we learned on this trip back home.
