Today was the first of serving the community and helping the people from Unity church. James and Elise made breakfast along side of Nhung which included pancakes, eggs, bacon and fruit. After breakfast we packed sack lunches and then headed to Unity church to start serving. We pulled weeds along the sidewalk and we walked to a basketball court to clean it up so that the VBS, that Christian Development Center held, could use later in the week. We then went to a member of Unity’s churches house to eat in the AC for lunch and cool down, which was very much needed because it was like 95 degrees. We helped out Kara in the backyard by clearing branches and leaves so they can use the alley while the other team went back to the basketball court to finish. We then walked around the neighborhood by Unity to do surveys for the community with some stories. After that we rushed home and blue team got started right away on making the food for Tex Mex night. After a stressful but rewarding dinner prep we got to eat the delicious food with Micah, Megan and their kids. To conclude our time Kate led us in a time of devotions that moved us all and Tyler and Ethan led us in a time of worship. At night we had deep conversations with each other and played games before we decided that it was time to head to bed for some very needed rest. We ask for prayer against the spiritual warfare that we are all very much experiencing. Good night!
