Prison Ministry: Pen Pal Training Session
March 18 | 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
One event on March 18, 2021 at 6:00 pm
The Pen Pal Ministry at Calvary Church is an important opportunity to reach out to incarcerated men and women who want to grow in their faith and connect with fellow believers. When someone is incarcerated, they often lose contact or regular communication with friends and family outside of prison, leading to potential physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health issues. As we all know, 2020 was a heavy year. For those who have been incarcerated, the few opportunities for social interaction have diminished as visitors have not been allowed since March 13th, 2020, and Sunday worship services have been put on hold.
Now is a significant time to fulfill our mission to reach inmates with the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to encourage their relationship and trust in the Lord, to assist in their understanding of scripture, and to be a light during a difficult experience.
We are working in partnership with Forgotten Man Ministries to provide training and resources to connect with inmates looking for a Pen Pal. Please join us for a one-hour Microsoft Teams live session led by, Dr. Linda Haveman, to learn more about writing encouraging letters, building relationships, and share the Gospel.
