2022, HS Missions:

HSM Knoxville: Monday

June 27.

Our team was treated to a good ole pancakes breakfast and then a nice morning devotional. All three teams headed out to different work sites.

Crew 1
Today the KARM team went to one of the many KARM thrift stores in the Knoxville Area. All of the proceeds from each store go to help support their mission to provide meals and care for those in need. The team helped with a variety of tasks including sorting clothing, moving furniture, and helping to stock employee resources for assisting patrons. After a long day’s work, the team cooled off with frosties from Wendy’s. Tomorrow the team will head to another one of KARM’s stores.

Crew 5
The building team headed over to a nearby house in Knoxville. The team started the day by painting an ADA ramp at the house. While the painting was going on the other half of the team started planning how to widening the porch at the top of the ramp. Lastly, This team beat the heat at the end of the day by grabbing slushies at McDonalds. Tomorrow the team will begin expanding the landing of the ADA ramp.

Crew 7
This team of girls painting girls served at a local family’s house by cleaning and doing paint removal. Originally, the team was going to scrape off and repaint a wall but sadly it was too humid out to paint. Instead the ladies were able to clean up some of the yard around the house.

The night
Once all of the groups got back they all got to spend some valuable time hanging out together. Many new friendships were made as the team ate dinner. All of the groups then got together for an amazing night of worship with the Next Step team. After worship the group was able to enjoy God’s nature outside as they sat and talked about the lesson. The last few hours of the night were spent hanging out and playing games.
