What better way to start our first day of work than to watch the sunrise together as a team!
We were reminded by the view of the clouds the way that Jesus will return – “To heal every hurt and right every wrong” (song: Come Jesus Come, by CeCe Winans)
We know this week will be a challenge, but our hearts are ready and willing to do what the Lord asks of us.
At the All4Aid Center, our team met the staff and volunteers, received a tour of the space, was trained on the process of each station, and had our jobs assigned. Very soon, the first few women came for the food bank and to do laundry. We each were blessed to interact with the women and children during the day. We were surprised how young some of them are!
A few of us were cleaning showers between their use, washing feet and giving massages in the spa, providing a snack and craft, brushing and braiding the girls’ hair, and helping watch the babies and children.
We also were so blessed to bring over all the donations to be sorted and organized.
After finishing the day at the Center, our team of volunteers spent time debriefing. Praise God for a great day of connecting and serving. Our Calvary team headed back into town for dinner and finished our night at the hotel preparing a bead craft for Tuesday.
As we continue our work this week, we ask for prayers:
– That all the showers would work! Today, three were broken and the hot water was very sporadic.
– To lift up the refugee moms and kids as they settle in their “Caravans” tonight, dreaming about a better and safer future for their families! May they encounter Jesus in their dreams and may HE fill them up with peace and comfort.
We are grateful for the unity within our team and for having the Holy Spirit present with us!
Thank you for following along!
