Humility, Suffering
The story about Jesus washing the disciples feet, and the conversation He has with Peter who initially refuses to be washed, gives us four insights about pride and humility. First, pride is concerned about outward appearances. Second, pride is when we expect and demand more from others than we do of ourselves. Third, pride creates an unwillingness to let others serve us. And finally, pride leads us to refuse forgiveness.
