What a great start to our day – Dan lead us with a devotion about when the disciples were instructed to stay in Jerusalem and wait for the gift the father had promised, the Holy Spirit. In his version it read that the spirit would come and we would be clothed with the power. Then he linked it to what we will be teaching the kids on Saturday (we all have matching fruit of the spirit tshirts, hint hint) the Fruit of the Spirit! We are all gifted with the power to love, exhibit patience, joy, etc! So let’s have a day where we call on the power of the Holy Spirit so that others know we are different and don’t look like everyone else, which isn’t hard to do here in Africa!
The kids were taught today that God knows them by name – he sees them, hears them and knows them because he created them! The kids craft were nameplates that they colored and added gems to. They were so proud of their work (and we are proud of them too!) it enabled us to take a photo of almost every child as they turned them in to be stored in their Friday take home bag.
We are also experiencing record number of women attending the conference – about 50! We are overjoyed that these women are not only coming for community and crafts but they are being taught how to study the word of God for a good portion of the day! With many women come many young children to keep Ann and Eva extra busy when they are done with the school kids.
looking forward to Friday as we all wrap up our lessons and not looking forward to our final goodbyes. We hope to see many of the kids on Saturday for VBS though – where we will get to share the joy we have in Jesus!
