I have been so very encouraged by these students willingness to not only serve but to ask the Lord to do something in and through them this week. Here’s a few more student experiences so far.
Today during Quiet Time, Carson played songs on his guitar while we read the Bible, wrote in our journals, and sang along. I was really trying to remember who I was, so I flipped to Genesis and read the creation story. Then I saw someone’s notebook on the floor in front of me. It had a Bible verse on it, but I could only read “Jeremiah 29:11.” I turned to that page. The verse says, “‘For I have plans for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” This really encouraged me because I still have no idea what I want to do with my life, but if He has a plan for me, I have no need to worry.

We had a lot of fun this week and did so much. On Monday we made gift bags for a retirement home. It was raining that day but we made so many peoples day. All of our groups prayed for at least one person. Then on Tuesday we went to a nursing home and hosted games for them. We talked and had plenty of fun. Then, on Wednesday we painted the equipment in the park. Then had a great time playing staff vs students kickball. Finally today we painted the outside of the building we eat and play in go YWAM. I saw God work when I was struggling and asked Him for a sign, anything . Even a cat to walk by. Then I look over and there is a cat standing right there.

My week here at YWAM has been great so far. I’ve met so many people, done many things to help out the community, and have served a lot of people of different ages. One of my favorite things that we’ve done so far was paint a park in the city. Another thing that I really liked was spending time with the guys in our house having fun at night before bed. I hope to go on fun adventures like this in the future.
