2019, West Virginia, Short Term Missions:

West Virginia 2019- Thursday

Thursday started out with breakfast but then instead of a session we split into two groups.

One group stayed back and painted the outside of the YWAM building. The other group went and assisted a summer program for kids. They got to play games with elementary children and show them they are loved! They were able to spend some time playing with water balloons in the heat as well. So far the weather has been great and not too hot! It’s been manageable. The other group got the chance to play with some water balloons and cool down as well.

After these projects we all came back and had lunch and then jumped into a time of worship and reflection. One of our leaders, Carson, had the opportunity to lead us in this. During this time the Lord spoke to each of our hearts. This became an emotional time of reflecting on the goodness of the Lord. One of the things we’ve been learning this week is who we are in Christ. That He is the Creator and we are His prized creation and no matter how far we have fallen or messed up there is still forgiveness. I think a lot of us felt the Lord reminding us of this in that moment.

During my time of reflection I felt the Lord telling me to remind these students to accept that forgiveness and not just hear it but to know it and believe it.

After free time we had another session which was a talk based around biblical purity. This was an encouraging time to further drive home the message of pursuing Christ in all areas of our lives.

The night ended with our usual debrief and sharing with our group on where we saw God today or how we felt him speaking to us.

The general consensus with the whole group was that at some point to some extent we didn’t know why we were coming or what we were here for. But for those of us who still haven’t felt the Lord reveal that to us before our worship time, felt the Lord speak to us in a powerful way during this time.

God is real and moving and doing big things this week!

Friday is our last day of ministry time and serving this community. Some of us are tired yet still excited to serve.

Please pray for us that we can finish strong with full energy and willing and open hearts to hear and see what the Lord has for us on our last day!
