Freedom

Jesus wants us to get to a point where we are being actively guided by him.  One reason Jesus saves us is so he can speak to us, leading us and guiding us to the full life that he has made available.  Jesus is interested in all the decisions you have to make in life.  He wants to not only lay down his life for you and give you life, but to guide you through this life so that you experience the greatest possible blessings.  He does this because he loves us to totally and completely. This is what it means for Jesus to be the Good Shepherd.
