While this world is a physical place there is far more going on than what our eyes are able to see. There is also a spiritual realm and many real and powerful things are taking place that cannot be seen or quantified in physical terms. If we look only with our earthly eyes and trust only what can be scientifically quantified we will miss what is most important. Nicodemus came to Jesus to try and understand what he was all about and Jesus gently explained to him that there is a spiritual element that Nicodemus must embrace.
