This teaching series is on the Old Testament book of Joshua. The idea of obedience is prominent throughout Joshua, as we see the children of Israel finally entering the land that God had promised them. As they enter the land, it is their faith that produces obedience to follow God’s directions. Even though they face very difficult situations, God promises to be present with them in a special way when they are willing to step out and obey.
Just like Israel, taking steps of obedience in our own lives requires us to exercise faith, and to lean into God’s promises to be with us, to guide us and to sustain us. As we take these steps and obey, our faith grows and we are better able to see where God is leading us. The series is called “Courage to Obey,” and we hope that through it you will be encouraged to see your faith grow through obedience to God.
