The most difficult test that Abraham ever faced was the call to sacrifice his son. As painful as that sacrifice would have been, he was willing to do it out of a demonstration of his love for God. God ultimately kept Abraham for having to kill his son Isaac, not only affirming to Abraham that He was his provider, but also foreshadowing the sacrifice that God has made through His son Jesus Christ.
