In looking at the book of Exodus, we are also looking at how we can know God. One of the ways we can do so, though it is not recommended, is to fight with God. God is loving and compassionate and gracious, but He is like a mother bear guarding her children. When they are in danger He becomes fierce and dons the armor of heaven to go to war. It is important to note in fighting God that He fights with increasing intensity, He controls the fight, He has a purpose for it and He fights until He wins. The encouragement here is not to fight with God, He is undefeated for a reason. There are better ways of knowing Him.
