Addressing mainly children and fathers, children first are called to obey their parents. This may be hard, but it is the right thing to do. In fact it is promised that good things happen when children choose obedience. Within this same passage, fathers are exhorted to love and be affectionate toward their children and to invest in their spiritual development.
