Pastors and Priests

Christian leaders are useful for experiencing the blessings of God’s presence, but not essential. Leaders are helpful but not foundational; they are channels through which God’s blessing can come but not the source. Christ is the source. As a result, when we are let down by Christian leaders, all of which are weak, the fallout is damaging, but not devastating. Our high priest, the one who represents us to God and who mediates God’s blessings to us, is perfect, holy and blameless. He has never failed us nor will he ever. He uses Christian leaders as a means by which we can experience God’s blessing, but He is and forever will be the fountain of blessing.
