The Old Testament’s sacrificial system required the blood of an unblemished animal to cover for sin. By shedding his blood on the cross, Christ has secured salvation for believers, finally reconciling humanity back to God. Christ’s blood has real and significant implications for our lives. It’s only through the blood of Christ that we are brought near to God and forgiven of our sins.
