When we face difficulties in life, it is easy to give way to worry, anxiety, doubt and fear. It is also easy to look around for help in the wrong places: money, prestige, sex, beauty. But none of these things can actually rescue you.
When Jesus endured the cross, He literally became sin for us. But Easter is about God not abandoning Jesus to the grave. Even though Jesus was carrying the sin of the whole world, Jesus entrusted Himself to God’s promise, and God rescued Him.
The message of Easter is that no matter what kind of “what ifs” you are facing right now, you do not need to be afraid because they are opportunities for God to show you his goodness and love. God is your strength and defense.
