2023, HSM Wisconsin:

HSM 2023 Wisconsin: Day 5

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Today was our final work day and both teams closed out their worksites on a high notes! The crew at God Touch was able to finish their final project before we left. We power washed, sanded and painted a couple shelves for the ministry to use at the food pantry. We treated ourselves to Dairy Queen in celebration of making it through our work week. The crew that was at Bridge Builders finally completed the fence we had been working on! It was our smoothest  day yet and we had no major hiccups. To cap off our time working on the fence the leaders of Bridge Builders made cupcakes as a thank you for the team.

Tonight we are going to a cookout at a community center to eat dinner and hang out with other mission trip teams as well as some of the locals Milwaukeeans that will attend the cookout! Afterwards we plan to spend an extended time in prayer as a team. We are all looking forward to our free day tomorrow as we hope to tour the city, grab some local food, and check out (the not as cool side of Lake Michigan) beach!

A highlight of the leaders [Abby, Quinn, and Mike] have been watching the students enjoy this experience so much. They have been working so hard and surprisingly happy to do so. They are bonding as a group and making new friends with people from other youth groups. They are digging into the devotions and church time at the end of the night. A favorite has been highs and lows each night where we get to reflect on our days and what God is doing and revealing to us on this trip.

Thank you for praying for us! We can’t wait to update you on our free day.
