Warning

Once you start on your journey of faith, you must keep going all the way to the end in order to enter God’s heavenly rest. The metaphors used in Hebrews 5 and 6 for the Christian life are ones that evoke growth and progress. This passage warns us to keep on walking with God, to keep obeying, to keep believing. Those who deliberately choose to stop are in danger.

There are three warning signs in your life that you are choosing not to continue your faith journey: if you aren’t interested in learning more about God; if your life is not producing the fruit of the Spirit; if you have become spiritually lazy, particularly in the face of suffering.

God invites us to his throne of grace and encourages us to keep going.
