2019, West Virginia, Short Term Missions:

West Virginia 2019 Day 2

We are all still alive and well! Some have had one too many cookies but the important thing is we are still happy, hydrated and protected with plenty of sunscreen (don’t worry I’ve made sure!)

The kiddos were a little more tired this morning. Those late nights are catching up to them! We woke up bright and early this morning to make our short walk to the YWAM building. Plenty of pancakes were consumed and then we had a session teaching us about God’s story from creation to Jesus. After that we had the opportunity to play some fun new games and get our energy out.

For lunch we had some classic “pigs in the blanket” along with a few other things and were then split up into two teams. Team one went to a nursing home to play games and just spend time with dementia patients as well as do some gardening in their garden. Team two started prep work to repaint the YWAM building. The kids were able to scrape off the old paint and do yard work (mowing the lawn, weeding, etc.)

When we got back We had a big dinner of cheesy chicken with rice and broccoli.

After a bit of free time, we will have a time of worship and another session talking about relationships with one another.

Showers will be at 9:30 and then it’s lights out (hopefully soon after!)

Thank you for all of your prayers! Our hope is that the kids will continue to grow closer to one another as well as with the Lord.
